ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The Flagler College men's soccer team trailed by just one at half; however, they were unable to get anything flowing in the final 45 minutes as Lander University netted a trio of goals to leave Saints Field with a 4-0 Peach Belt Conference victory Sunday.
Flagler (0-1-1, 0-1-1 PBC) had nine shots with one on goal compared to 18 and 10 on goal for the Bearcats (3-0, 3-0). Tom Marriott assisted on the Bearcats first goal by Max McNulty in the 12th minute, and then scored Lander's second came six minutes into the second half on a free kick above the box.
For the Saints,
Jared Marsano swatted away six saves in goal to keep Flagler in it, while
Jared Fuentes and
Matteo Costa each had two shots. Reserve
Eden Shachar had the Saints' lone shot on goal via free kick. Lander capitalized on a pair of late goals to solidify the visiting win as Luke Jordan (assisted by Alistair Danjon) scored in the 73rd minute and Timon Windisch (assisted by Max Bolton) did in the 84th.
