Saints’ win streak ends at 13 on Saturday

WINGATE, N.C. – Kennedy Muff tallied 17 assists, five kills, five digs, and three total blocks but it wasn't enough as Flagler College lost to Wingate University 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-14) in a non-conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Cuddy Arena.

Flagler had its 13-match winning streak come to an end and is now 18-4. Wingate, a member of the South Atlantic Conference, improved to 18-3.

Jordan Berglin led the Saints with eight kills and Molly Boyd added six kills and a pair of block assists. Boyd had five kills and hit .667 in the first set alone. Edie Lamoreaux collected 11 digs.

Flagler was held to a season-low .000 hitting percentage in the match as the team recorded 29 kills and had 29 errors on 104 swings.

Sophie Schaff led a balanced attack for the Bulldogs with nine kills and she added five block assists. Reese Blackley tacked on seven kills. Shannon Kasprak tallied 29 assists and she added five digs as well as five block assists.

Wingate recorded 10.0 total team blocks.  

Flagler returns to Peach Belt Conference play on Friday against Augusta University at 6 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium.
