No. 12 Saints get back on track with 7-0 win over Southern New Hampshire

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Back on track.

After a heartbreaking loss two days ago, the No. 12 Flagler College women's tennis team didn't have to wait long to get back on the courts as the Saints bounced back in a big way Monday in a 7-0 victory over Southern New Hampshire University at the Flagler Tennis Center.

"It is always hard to come back and perform well after such a tough lost on the road this past Saturday," Flagler women's tennis head coach Rodrigo Puebla said," but the girls were able to leave it behind and play some solid tennis. We are looking forward to another test this coming Wednesday at 12 p.m."

The pairings of Eden Schlagenhauf/Lixin Wang improved to 4-2 on the season, while the duo of Paloma Martinez/Amelie Vossgaetter stayed undefeated (3-0) and Anika Nissen and Florencia Massardo Brain teamed up for the first time to secure the Saints' doubles sweep.

The momentum flowed into singles play as each Saint won in straight sets to sweep SNHU (11-5). Schlagenhauf was the first to win. The sophomore snapped a skid to get Flagler going followed by Martinez snagging her fourth win on the season.

Vossgaetter cashed in on her fourth straight and 13th overall with a two-set sweep, while Nissen raced to her fourth consecutive and Wang pocketed her fifth straight without a loss. The final point came from Massardo Brain as the freshman capped her third straight to improve to 4-5 on the year.
