GREENWOOD, S.C. – Lander University's Landon Duper belted a grand slam in the bottom of the first inning in route to a 9-0 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Sunday afternoon at Dolny Stadium.
Lander (13-7 overall, 7-4 PBC) erupted for six runs in the first inning as it sent nine men to the plate. Roury Glanton reached on an infield single that scored the first run and Josh Gregory followed with an RBI single to right. Two batters later, Duper hit his grand slam.
Gregory hit a two-run homer in the third. He went 4-for-4 with two runs scored and four runs batted in.
Glanton finished 3-for-3 with a double, three runs scored, and one RBI.
Carson Schlegel (5-1) tossed a complete game shutout, scattering six hits, and striking out six batters. He retired eight of the last nine batters he faced.
Matthew Burke and
Jaiden Warde both went 2-for-4 with a double for Flagler (12-9, 4-8).
Colt Mink (3-2) took the loss on the hill for the Saints. He allowed eight runs on nine hits along with four strikeouts in 4 1/3 innings.

Tyler Schwartz finished the game.
Flagler returns home to face Assumption College on Tuesday at 5 p.m. at Drysdale Field.
