LAKELAND, Fla. – Florida Southern College stunned No. 7 (Oracle/ITA Division II ranking) Flagler College 5-2 in a non-conference men's tennis match Saturday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
Florida Southern (1-0) earned the first point after winning two of the three doubles matches.
Trailing 3-0 in the team scoring,
Luca Bolla rolled past Brandon Pham 6-2 and 6-1 to record Flagler's (1-1) first point. Bolla is ranked No. 47 in the nation.
The Moccasins clinched the win after Valentin Hertweck defeated
Rasmus Jonsson 6-2 and 6-4 at No. 3.
Jiri Jenicek defeated Andres Cabezas 7-5, 6-3 at No. 4 for the other Saints point.
Flagler takes on No. 5 Saint Leo University tomorrow (Feb. 9) at 11 a.m.
