Damerit Brown scored 16 of his team-high 18 points in first half as he helped Flagler College end the regular season with an 82-73 win over Francis Marion University in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium.
Brown was honored before the game as the team's lone senior on "Senior Day." He scored 16 of Flagler's first 24 points.
The Saints went on a quick 15-2 burst to wipe out a 13-11 Patriots lead. Brown's layup tied the game and he followed that with a fast-break three-pointer to give Flagler a lead they would never relinquish.
He finished the game 7-of-15 from the field and he sank four 3-pointers. Brown added five rebounds and four steals.
Flagler (14-14 overall, 10-10 PBC) held a comfortable 47-27 lead at the half. The Saints made 60 percent of their shots from the field and was 9-for-14 from long range.
The Patriots had trailed by as many as 21 in the first half, but they whittled the deficit down to five (66-61) on Winston Hill's three-pointer with 8:24 left.
But back-to-back treys by
Logan Swackhammer and
Allante Pickens pushed Flagler's lead back into double figures.

Tyler Collier added 11 points coming off the bench.
Gedi Juozapaitis and

Although the PBC will officially release the brackets following the last league game on Sunday, Flagler has secured the No. 6 seed in the post-season tournament. The Saints will visit Lander University, the No. 3 seed, on Wednesday (March 4) at Greenwood, South Carolina. The game time will be announced later. This will be Flagler's first appearance in the conference tournament.
NOTE: Flagler's 14 wins are the most the program has recorded since the 2007-08 season where the Saints went 20-7. The 10 conference wins are the most since joining the PBC in 2009-10. The previous high for league wins was seven in 2012-13.
