COLUMBUS, Ga. –
Allante Pickens and
Damir Hadzic each scored 15 points to lead Flagler College, but Columbus State University came away with a 95-74 win in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at the Lumpkin Center.
Gedi Juozapaitis sank a three-pointer to put Flagler (7-8 overall, 3-4 PBC) ahead 10-8, but Columbus State (9-6, 4-3) followed with a 24-6 run over the next 8:23 to take control.
Anthony Moore led four Cougars in double figures with a game-high 19 points. Chris Horton added 17 points and had five assists. Karl Ivey and Bryant Givens added 12 and 11 points, respectively. Givens dished out eight assists.
Columbus State finished with a 51.5 percent (35-68) shooting percentage, which included shooting at a 58.8 percent (20-34) clip in the second half.
Juozapaitis contributed 14 points and five rebounds for the Saints. Chris Maetzger added 11 points on 5-of-7 shooting from the field. Hadzic and
Damerit Brown each grabbed six rebounds while
Derrick Ellis, Jr. had four assists.
The Saints shot 51.9 percent (15-29) from the field in the second half.
Flagler hosts Young Harris College on Monday at 3:30 p.m. at Flagler Gym.
