Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Florida Tech edges Flagler, 2-0

ST. AUGUSTINE – Guillermo Marcos scored both goals as Florida Tech defeated Flagler College 2-0 in a non-conference men's soccer match Saturday night at Saints Field.

The Panthers remain undefeated at 4-0-0 and the Saints slip to 0-5-0.

Marcos' first tally came in the seventh minute. It started with a throw in right in front of the Flagler bench by Robbie Madden. He catapulted a pass to the edge of the box where Per Henrik Nag collected the ball and dribbled into the near post to draw the Flagler keeper. Nag shuffled a touch pass to the right over to Marcos who booted the ball into the back of the net.

That score held until the waning seconds of the game. Marcos collected a loose ball close to the Flagler goal as the final seconds were ticking off and scored inside the right post with one second left.

The Panthers came into the match with a stingy defense as it had only allowed two goals. They limited the Saints to four shots, three of which were on goal.

Jason Fesquet turned in a clean sheet and tallied three saves. Andrea Lubbia recorded four saves for the Saints.

Up next for Flagler is No. 6 (United Soccer Coaches Division II Top 25) Palm Beach Atlantic University on Wednesday (Sept. 25) at West Palm Beach, Florida.
