FLORENCE, S.C.– No. 13 (Oracle/ITA Division II Top 25) Flagler College rolled to a 4-0 win over Augusta University in a Peach Belt Conference Women's Tennis Tournament quarterfinal match Saturday afternoon at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.
Flagler improved to 16-5 overall while Augusta dropped to 11-8.
The No. 30-ranked doubles team of
Anika Nissen and
Lixin Wang extended their winning streak to 14 matches with a 6-0 win and Palmona Martinez and
Felicitas Runkel clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win.
Runkel, ranked No. 69 in the nation, and No. 61
Eden Schlagenhauf won their matches in straight sets as did
Alessandra Traub to wrap up the match.
Flagler takes on No. 10 University of North Georgia at 6 p.m. in the semifinal round.
