FLORENCE, S.C. – No. 13 (Oracle/ITA Division II Top 25) Flagler College suffered a 4-1 loss to No. 10 University of North Georgia in a Peach Belt Conference Women's Tennis Tournament semifinal match Saturday evening at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.
Flagler dropped to 16-6 and will now have to wait see if it earns an at-large berth to the NCAA Division II Southeast Regional. North Georgia improved to 19-4 and faces Columbus State University tomorrow in the conference championship.
North Georgia opened with a pair of wins in doubles to claim the first point of the match.
Lixin Wang recorded Flagler's lone point with her 6-3, 6-4 victory at No. 4. It was her seventh consecutive win in singles.
The Nighthawks won three singles matches in straight sets to clinch the match.
