ST. AUGUSTINE– No. 18 (Oracle/ITA Division II Top 25) Flagler College coasted to a 7-0 win over Young Harris College in a Peach Belt Conference women's tennis match Saturday afternoon at the Flagler Tennis Center.
Flagler ran its winning streak to six and improved to 14-5 overall and 7-1 in the Peach Belt. Young Harris fell to 1-12 overall and 1-8 in conference play.
Young Harris already started at a deficit with only four players. They lost Nos. 5 and 6 singles by default as well as No. 3 doubles.
The Saints took advantage and won the doubles point after
Felicitas Runkel and
Paloma Martinez triumphed 6-0.
Eden Schlagenhauf and
Alessandra Traub also won 6-0.
As soon as singles play started, Flagler held a 3-0 lead.
Lixin Wang's win at No. 4 clinched the match.
Anika Nissen, Runkel, and Schlagenhauf also recorded wins.
Flagler wraps up the regular season on Sunday with No. 11 University of North Georgia at 9 a.m. at the Flagler Tennis Center on "Senior Day."
