ST. AUGUSTINE – No. 15 (Oracle/ITA Division II ranking) Flagler College recorded the match's first four points in route to a 4-3 win over No. 20 Concordia College (N.Y.) in a non-conference men's tennis match Friday afternoon at the USTA National Campus.
Flagler improved to 6-3 while Concordia had its four-match winning streak snapped and fell to 5-3.
The two teams split the first two doubles matches, which means the team point came down to the result at No. 3.
Luca Bolla and
Daniel Arrien secured the point for Flagler with a 7-5 win over Eymeric Chevalier and Henry Masters.
Rasmus Jonsson won his singles match in straight sets to increase Flagler's lead to 2-0. Arrien downed Max Grundmann at No. 6 (6-1, 4-6, 10-3) and then
Lukas Storck clinched the match for the Saints with a straight sets win at No. 1.
On Monday (March 11), Flagler hosts Southern New Hampshire University at the Flagler Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
