AMERICUS, Ga.– No. 28 (Oracle/ITA Division II Top 25) Flagler College rolled to a 7-0 victory over Georgia Southwestern State University in a Peach Belt Conference women's tennis match Sunday afternoon at the Susan K. Smith Tennis Complex.
Flagler improved to 9-5 overall and 4-1 in the Peach Belt. Georgia Southwestern lost its fourth consecutive match and dropped to 6-7 overall and 0-3 in conference play.
The Saints claimed the doubles point in quick fashion as
Lixin Wang and
Anika Nissen won 6-0 and
Alessandra Traub and
Felicitas Runkel rolled to a 6-1 victory.
Flagler won all six singles matches in straight sets with
Paloma Martinez clinching the match with her 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 6. Nissen extended her singles winning streak to eight matches with a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3. Wang is a perfect 5-0 at No. 4.
Flagler travels to face USC Aiken on Saturday (March 30) for another PBC match.
