COLUMBUS, Ga.– No. 15 (Oracle/ITA Division II Top 25) Columbus State University topped No. 28 Flagler College 6-1 in a Peach Belt Conference women's tennis match Saturday afternoon at the Walden Tennis Complex.
Columbus State extended its winning streak to four matches and improved to 10-3 overall and 2-0 in the Peach Belt. Flagler had its six-match winning streak snapped and fell to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in conference play.
The Lady Cougars won the first two doubles matches 6-2 to claim the first team point.
Columbus State went on to win the next three singles matches to clinch the team win. No. 40 Marleen Tilgner downed No. 70
Eden Schlagenhauf 6-2 and 7-5 for the fourth Lady Cougar point.
Anika Nissen secured Flagler's lone point with a 4-6, 7-6, 10-7 win over No. 53 Luise Sachs.
Flagler takes on Georgia Southwestern State University tomorrow (March 24) in Americus at 10 a.m.
