GREENWOOD, S.C.– Flagler College won its sixth match in row with a 6-1 victory over Lander University in a Peach Belt Conference women's tennis match Sunday afternoon at the Joe Cabri Tennis Center.
Flagler improved to 8-4 overall and 3-0 in the Peach Belt. Lander dropped to 4-9 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The Saints wrapped up the doubles point quickly as
Lixin Wang and
Anika Nissen won their match 6-0 and
Eden Schlagenhauf and
Felicitas Runkel rolled to a 6-2 win.
In singles play,
Paloma Martinez, Nissen, Schlagenhauf all won their matches in straight sets to clinch the match for Flagler, 4-0. Wang and
Alessandra Traub also posted wins in singles. Nissen, Schlagenhauf, and Wang all won their sixth consecutive singles match.
Up next for Flagler is the two-time defending conference champion, Columbus State University, on Saturday at 11 a.m.
