FLORENCE, S.C. – No. 15 (Oracle/ITA Division II Top 25) Flagler College rolled past Francis Marion University 7-0 in a Peach Belt Conference men's tennis match Saturday afternoon at the Kassab Courts.
Flagler extended its winning streak to four matches and improved to 9-3 overall as well as 2-0 in the Peach Belt. Francis Marion fell to 8-4 overall and 0-2 in conference play.
The Saints opened by securing the doubles point after
Rasmus Jonsson and
Felipe Carvalho bested Matheo Espinoza and Mauricio Guerrero at No. 2, 6-4. Flagler won all three doubles matches.
Flagler continued to dominate in singles playing winning five in straight sets and the last singles match was won due to the opponent retiring. Carvalho,
Daniel Arrien, and
Lukas Storck all won points for the Saints in singles play with Storck clinching the match.
Konstantin Dustmann,
Luca Bolla, and Jonsson all won their matches.
Flagler heads to Greenwood, South Carolina to face No. 8 Lander University at 1 p.m. tomorrow.
