Saints pound out 16 hits and Girgis tosses seven scoreless innings in win

AUGUSTA, Ga. – Jason Moore and Sean Lawlor combined for eight of Flagler College's 16 hits and Robert Girgis (5-0) tossed seven scoreless innings in a 13-1 victory over Augusta University in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Saturday afternoon at Jaguar Field.

After scoring an unearned run in the first inning, the Saints struck four times in the second. Three consecutive singles, including a two-run base hit by Justin Neo, led to the out-burst.

Flagler added two runs in the third, sixth, seventh, and eighth innings.

Girgis struck out five batters and induced nine ground outs and six fly outs. He retired nine-of-the-first-10 batters he faced. Only two base runners in his seven innings of work reached scoring position.
