WINTER PARK, Fla. – Rollins College rallied to knock off No. 15 (Oracle/ITA Division II ranking) Flagler College 5-2 in a non-conference men's tennis match Thursday afternoon at the Bert Martin Tennis Complex.
Rollins remained undefeated at 5-0 while Flagler had its three-match winning streak snapped and fell to 5-3.
The Saints struck quickly with wins at Nos. 3 and 1 doubles to take the first point.
Luca Bolla and
Daniel Arrien rolled to a 6-2 win while
Lukas Storck and
Konstantin Dustmann clinched the point with their 6-4 win at No. 1.
The Tars bounced back and won four consecutive singles matches, all in straight sets. Nicolo de Fraia defeated Storck at No. 1 singles 6-4 and 6-2 to clinch the match.
Felipe Carvalho won his fifth match in a row with a 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 win over Gai Feigin at No. 4 singles.
Flagler heads to Charlotte for two matches on Sunday (March 3). The Saints take on Queens University of Charlotte and then Johnson C. Smith University, weather permitting.
