ST. AUGUSTINE – Kwei Lartey and Jamari Dean combined to score 55 points as Georgia Southwestern State University downed Flagler College 80-72 in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at Flagler Gymnasium.
Georgia Southwestern snapped a three-game losing streak and improved to 4-21 overall and 2-17 in the Peach Belt. Flagler dropped its overall record to 8-17 overall and 5-14 in conference play.
The Hurricanes used a 15-4 spurt midway through the second half to pull away from the Saints. Grant Howard's layup capped the run and gave Georgia Southwestern its largest lead of the game, 68-55.

Chris Metzger layup with 16 seconds left cut the Flagler deficit to four (76-72), but the Saints could not get any closer.
Lartey scored 28 of his game-high 32 points in the second half. He made 12 of 18 from the field and sank four 3-pointers. Dean added 23 points and seven rebounds.
The Hurricanes shot 53.4 percent (31-58) from the field, which included a 63.3 percent (19-30) mark in the second half. Georgia Southwestern forced 17 Flagler turnovers and cashed them in for 20 points.
Gedi Juozapaitis scored a team-high 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Saints.
Vaughn McCall tacked on 13 points.
Flagler will visit Francis Marion University on Saturday for a 3:30 p.m. contest.
