FLORENCE, S.C. –
Josefine Nilsen scored two goals and assisted on three more as No. 3 (United Soccer Coaches D2 Top 25) Flagler College rolled to a 6-1 win over Francis Marion University in a Peach Belt Conference women's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Hartzler Field.
With the win, Flagler (16-0-1 overall, 10-0-1 PBC) wins its first Peach Belt Conference regular season title, which is the first such title in the program's history.
It took the Saints less than a minute (58 seconds) to score the first goal of the match.
Sara Sandberg tallied her team-leading 20
th goal with
Lorena Lopez and Nilsen assisting.
Francis Marion (8-8-1, 4-7-0) scored the equalizer in the 30
th minute as Sierra Cartano got the Patriots on the board.

Charlene Nowotny bicycle kick found the back of the net in the 42
nd minute to give the Saints a 2-1 lead at the half.
Nilsen scored her goals in the 80
th and 86
th minutes.
Annie Habeeb (73') and
Liz Hall (83') also scored a goal in the second half.
Sarah-Lisa Dubel tallied three saves for the Saints while Micahla Kitchen finished with four saves for the Patriots.
Flagler out-shot Francis Marion 22-9 and had a 10-5 advantage in shots on goal. Each team had three corner kicks.
Flagler, which already had secured the No. 1 seed in the conference tournament last week, will host No. 8 seed Lander University on Tuesday (Nov. 12) at a time to be determined. The winner advances to the semifinal round in Evans, Georgia on Nov. 15.
