ST. AUGUSTINE –
Rachel Machovec led a balanced offensive attack with nine kills as Flagler College swept Lander University 25-23, 25-16, 25-19 in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium.
Prior to the match, the Saints honored their three seniors –
Kayla Norelli,
Rachel Porada, and
Sarah Schark – on their outstanding careers.
Flagler (20-7 overall, 7-3 PBC) had six players with four or more kills in the match.
Karlie Redfern added eight kills and 16 digs while
Jordan Taylor chipped in with six kills and four total blocks.
Kennedy Muff recorded a double-double with 28 assists and 10 digs.
Logan Garcia recorded six total blocks. Norelli collected a team-high 22 digs in her final home match.
The Saints finished with 11.0 total team blocks.
Kyra Ross led Lander (18-8, 7-3) with a match-high 13 kills. Madilyn Reed recorded a double-double with 29 assists and 11 digs. Hannah McManus corralled a match-high 25 digs.
The Bearcats finished with a .046 hitting percentage, which included a -.044 mark in the second set.
Flagler closes out its regular season next weekend at Francis Marion University (Nov. 15) and at UNC Pembroke (Nov. 16).
