ST. AUGUSTINE –
Karlie Redfern recorded 17 kills in Flagler College's sweep (25-17, 25-18, 25-21) of Georgia College in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium.
Flagler improved to 9-6 overall and evened its record to 2-2 in the Peach Belt. Georgia College lost its third match in a row and fell to 5-6 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Redfern only had three errors on 41 swings to finish with a .341 hitting percentage.
Rachel Machovec just missed a double-double with 14 kills and nine digs.
Lindsay Glynn provided a spark off the bench with seven kills.
Kennedy Muff tallied 45 assists while
Kayla Norelli collected a match-high 19 digs.
The Saints hit .310 with 55 kills and 15 errors on 129 swings. It was the second-highest hitting percentage this season. Flagler never trailed in the match.
Emily Crowell led the Bobcats with 10 kills and three total blocks. Lauren Talele registered 24 assists and nine digs. Jordyn Moellering collected 12 digs.
Flagler returns to the Empire State after playing three matches there last season. The Saints will take on Adelphi University on Friday (Oct. 11) at 5 p.m. and then face Molloy College at 7:30 p.m. Both matches are at Garden City, New York.
