DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Eren Ozer scored a goal and assisted on another as the University of North Georgia defeated Flagler College 2-0 in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Saturday afternoon at the UNG Soccer Complex.
North Georgia improved to 4-5-1 overall and moved to 1-0-0 in the Peach Belt. Flagler dipped to 1-7-1 overall and 0-1-0 in conference play.
Donovan Odier scored the first goal of the match, off of an Ozer assist, in the 59
th minute to give the Nighthawks the lead.
Nearly eight minutes later, Ozer scored the insurance goal, unassisted.
Connor Domaleski tallied seven saves for North Georgia.
Andrea Lubbia collected five saves for Flagler.
The Saints had a pair of shots on frame in the first 12 minutes of the match, but both were saved by Domaleski.
Flagler out-shot North Georgia 14-13 and had an 8-7 edge in shots on goal.
Dan McGuire and
Jonas Schmitt each had two shots on frame for the Saints.
The Saints also held a 9-6 edge in corner kicks.
Flagler will its second road match in a row when it visits former NAIA rival Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University on Tuesday (Oct. 8) at 7 p.m. at Daytona Beach, Florida.
