AIKEN, S.C. –
Gedi Juozapaitis poured in a season-high 31 points and finished off the double-double with 19 rebounds as Flagler College's upset attempt came up short in a 96-92 overtime loss at No. 7 (NABC Division II Top 25) University of South Carolina Aiken in a Peach Belt Conference men's basketball game Wednesday night at the Convocation Center.
USC Aiken improved to 14-1 overall and 8-1 in the Peach Belt. The Pacers also extended their home-court winning streak to 15 games. Flagler fell to 5-8 overall and 2-5 in conference play. Five of the Saints losses this season have been by eight or fewer points.

Juozapaitis went 12-of-17 from the field and sank five three-pointers. His rebound tally was the third-highest by a Flagler player in the NCAA Division II era.
Vaughn McCall's layup with 12 seconds left tied the score in regulation at 86. He scored 12 of his 19 points in the second half. Xzavier Barmore's three-pointer at the buzzer missed the mark and sent the game into overtime.
In the extra session, the Pacers scored the first five points and never looked back.
Flagler's
Gloire Biongo sank a pair of free throws with 2:06 left to close the gap to one (91-90), but the Saints couldn't get any closer.
Both teams struggled to shoot in the extra period as the Pacers shot just 30 percent (3-10) from the field, but the Saints made 1-of-7 for 14.3 percent.
The Pacers led by as many as 14 points (40-26) in the first half, but only took a 40-35 lead into the half.
DeMari Davis' dunk with 16:34 left gave Flagler its first lead (49-48) of the game. Davis finished the game with 10 points and five rebounds.
The Saints took a 76-70 lead after a Juozapaitis layup with 5:29 remaining in regulation.
USC Aiken countered with a 10-0 run over the next 2:17 to re-take the lead.
Logan Swackhammer dished out six assists and grabbed five rebounds for the Saints.
Barmore led the Pacers with 22 points and he tallied six assists. Ty'lik Evans added 21 points, eight steals, and six rebounds. He sank five of the team's nine three-pointers. Robert Hill posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Faison Brock chipped in with 16 points.
Flagler hosts Young Harris College on Saturday (Jan. 19) at 3:30 p.m. at the Flagler Gymnasium.
