ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – Flagler College senior
Sam Mack was selected to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® Men's Track/Cross Country Team for NCAA Division II District 3 released last Thursday this afternoon.
Mack becomes the fifth men's cross country runner to earn the academic award joining Ryan MacManus (2008), Ben Joslin (2010) and Alex Bonus (2011 and 2012) and Corey Mundy (2013). Mack will now be eligible for the Google Cloud Academic All-America® Teams.
Mack held a 3.817 cumulative grade point average and majored in criminology, with an information systems minor, at Flagler. He walked at graduation at the end of April. Mack is a three-time Academic All-PBC honoree. He will be a four-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar and is a two-time D2 ADA award recipient. Mack posted a season-best 8K time of 26:05.6 at the Peach Belt Conference Championships on Oct. 21.
During the Flagler student-athlete banquet on April 17, Mack took home the Athletics Director Award and was the men's cross country team's most valuable player.
Four of the 10 runners that made the academic all-district team were from Peach Belt Conference schools.
