AUGUSTA, Ga. – Flagler College seniors
Heloise Duffie de Tassigny and
Lauren Penkala, along with junior
Kayla McManama, were named to the Academic All-Peach Belt Conference Women's Cross Country Team, which was released Friday afternoon by conference officials.
To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and either be a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution.
This is Duffie de Tassigny's third academic all-conference accolade. She is a business administration major at Flagler. She has posted a personal record 5K time of 17:27.6 at the Mountain Dew Invitational. Duffie de Tassigny is a three-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll scholar.
McManama earns her second academic all-conference honor. She is a journalism and media relations major. She posted a p.r. 5K time of 18:49 at the Royals Challenge. McManama is a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar.
Penkala is a strategic communications and public relations major at Flagler. She ran a p.r. 5K time of 17:38.3 at the Mountain Dew Invitational. Penkala is a two-time PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar and this is her second academic all-conference honor.
The Flagler women's cross country team will compete in the Peach Belt Conference Championship on Nov. 3 at Beech Island, South Carolina.
