ST. AUGUSTINE – The University of South Carolina Aiken recorded 11 service aces to help in a 3-1 (25-18, 25-17, 25-27, 25-22) win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at Flagler Gymnasium.
The Pacers extended its winning streak to 10 and improved to 10-2 overall and 2-0 in the Peach Belt. Flagler suffered its second consecutive loss and fell to 5-3 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
Natalie Perrault and Emily Teelon accounted for nine of the 11 aces with five and four, respectively. Julia Forster recorded a match-high 14 kills and added seven digs. Avery Macklin added 11 kills and finished with a .526 hitting percentage. She had one error on 19 swings. Alie Smith, a Creekside High product, recorded a double-double with 10 kills and 13 digs. Rebecca Martinez collected a match-high 21 digs while Teelon tallied a match-high 45 assists.
Sara Davis led Flagler with 13 kills and finished with a .300 hitting percentage. She had four errors on 30 swings. Davis added five total blocks to her line.
Karlie Redfern added seven kills, nine digs and two total blocks.
Jordan Taylor,
Victoria Bowrosen and
Regan Swift each had six kills. Swift hit an efficient .455 with one error on 11 swings.
Kayla Norelli collected 17 digs while
Tara Savisky nearly recorded a double-double with 39 assists and eight digs.
Flagler begins a three-match road swing next week and starts the trek on Tuesday (Sept. 26) at Valdosta State University. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m.
