HOOVER, Ala. – Flagler College made quick work of the University of West Georgia in a three-set sweep (25-12, 25-18, 25-13) to wrap up the South Region Crossover Saturday evening at the Finley Center.

Flagler won all three of its matches in the tournament and ran its winning streak to nine matches. The Saints improved to 14-3. West Georgia fell to 2-18.

Sara Davis led a balanced scoring attack with a match-high 13 kills to go along with a .522 hitting percentage. She also had four total blocks. Taja Valmyr added 10 kills. Karlie Redfern supplied six kills and a team-high nine digs. Tara Savisky tallied 34 assists and tacked on seven digs. Victoria Bowrosen recorded a season-high five service aces. The Saints had 11 aces as a team.

Anjelina Webb led West Georgia with eight kills. Devon Dickey added seven kills, eight digs and three total blocks. Madi Fleming tallied 22 assists while Jaylen Daffin collected a match-high 17 digs.

Flagler hit .302 for the match with 40 kills and 11 errors on 96 swings. The Saints hit .333 (12-2-30) in the first set and hit .462 (14-2-26) in the third.

The Saints used an 11-1 run midway through the first set to roll to a 25-12 win. The Wolves had six hitting errors in that stretch and the last one was due to a double-block by Davis and Redfern. West Georgia was limited to a -.152 hitting percentage. Davis had four kills and four total blocks.

Flagler used an 8-3 run in the second set to pull away from the Wolves. Valmyr had five kills while Davis added four more.

In the third set, the Wolves opened on a 5-1 run, but the Saints were able to rally back and tie the set at 9-all on a Valmyr ace. After a Norelli service ace gave West Georgia an 11-10 lead, Flagler went on to score the next 12 points thanks to Bowrosen's five aces.

Flagler is idle until next Saturday (Oct. 21) when Georgia College comes to Flagler Gymnasium for a 2 p.m. match.
