MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. – The Flagler College women's cross country team finished in fourth place with 124 points at the Peach Belt Conference Women's Cross Country Championship Saturday morning at the Counsel Farm Cross Country Course.
Kaitlin Rodriguez earned all-conference honors for the second time in her career after finishing in eighth place with a time of 22:42.2 over the 6K course.
The University of Montevallo won its third consecutive Peach Belt Conference title by a wide margin. All seven runners finished in the top 15, including four in the top five alone, for a total of 19 points. The University of North Georgia finished a distant second with 80 points while Augusta University finished in front of Flagler with 80 points.
Cheyenne Thompson of Montevallo led the 105-woman field with a time of 21:43.8. Finishing second was Montevallo's Katie Nelson, who was the PBC's Runner of the Year. Nelson crossed the finish line in 22:07.8. Brittany Truitt of North Georgia broke up Montevallo's stranglehold on the top five with a third place finish posting a time of 22:10.1.
Just falling short of all-conference accolades was
Heloise Duffie de Tassigny. She finished in 16
th place with a time of 23:07.5. The cut off for all-conference was 23:07.3.
Lauren Penkala finished in 27
th place with a time of 23:46.4.
Abigayle Weinfeld finished in 32
nd place as she crossed the line at 24:01.1.
Kayla McManama (24:57.2) and
Margaret Stack (25:09.8) finished in 48
th and 51
st places, respectively.
Kelly McGeehan posted a time of 25:28.2 to finish in 61
st place while
Rachel Nelson rounded out the team with a time of 25:53.4 and finished in 71
st place.
The NCAA Division II Southeast Regional on Nov. 5 at Montevallo, Alabama awaits the Saints.
