Flagler kept off the board at USC Aiken

AIKEN, S.C. – Flagler College could not solve Andre Bernardini, the University of South Carolina Aiken goalkeeper, who saved three shots to help the Pacers defeat the Saints 1-0 in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Wednesday night at Pacer Pit.

USC Aiken improved to 3-3-2 overall and 1-2-0 in the Peach Belt. Flagler fell to 3-3-1 overall and 3-2-0 in conference play.

Nathan Shanko provided the only scoring of the match when he knocked in Andre Simmond's cross just in front of the goal in the 39th minute.

Flagler had all three of its shots on goal saved in the second half by Bernardini. Oscar Davidsson and Erlend Lofsgaard each had two shots for Flagler.

Lex Craggs recorded five saves for the Saints.

USC Aiken out-shot Flagler 9-7, but the Pacers held a 7-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Flagler hosts the University of Montevallo on Saturday (Oct. 10) night at 7:30 p.m. at Saints Field in another PBC match.
