WINTER PARK, Fla. – Matt Volk scored a pair of goals to help Rollins College roll to a 4-0 win over Flagler College in a non-conference men's soccer match Saturday night at Barker Family Stadium.
Rollins won its fourth match in a row and improved to 9-7-0. Flagler had its four-match win streak snapped and falls to 8-5-1. Rollins will continue on to the Sunshine State Conference Tournament while Flagler opens the Peach Belt Conference Tournament with a quarterfinal match against the University of Montevallo on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
In the 12
th minute, Volk headed down Mark Biddinger's volley to put the Tars up 1-0. With the score already 2-0, Volk blasted in a pass from Alexis Martinez in the 22
nd minute.
Brett Durrance and Temilolu Ajayi scored the other Rollins goals.
Drew Trautman had the clean sheet for Rollins and did not face a shot on goal.
Lex Craggs played the majority of the match for Flagler and made four saves before giving way to
Joey LaSala who tallied two saves in 36 minutes.
Karol Kustusz had two shots for Flagler.
Rollins out-shot Flagler 17-8 and held an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks.
