Warren goal leads Flagler to 2-1 road victory

PEMBROKE, N.C. – Marco Warren's goal in the 67th minute broke a 1-all tie and gave Flagler College a 2-1 win over the University of North Carolina Pembroke in a Peach Belt Conference men's soccer match Monday afternoon at Varsity Grounds.

Flagler improved to 8-4-1 overall and concluded its Peach Belt record at 7-2-0. UNC Pembroke fell to 5-7-2 overall and 1-5-2 in conference play.

Warren was inside the box when he received a pass from Jonny Cosgrove from the right side. Warren was situated just a couple of yards in front of the goal.

Jackie Kay scored his fourth goal of the season to give the Saints a 1-0 lead. He headed in Cosgrove's free kick in the 35th minute.

Tyler Santee tied the match when his header found the back of the net in the 59th minute.

Lex Craggs tallied three saves, but had his scoreless streak (360:48) come to an end. Kenneth Perkinson recorded four saves for the Braves.

UNCP out-shot Flagler 24-11 and held an 8-4 edge in corner kicks.  

Flagler wraps up its regular season on SAturday (Oct. 31) at Rollins College.
