Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – Flagler College used a five-run fifth inning to erase a 3-1 Rollins College lead and went on to win 11-5 in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday night at Drysdale Field.

Flagler improved to 14-16 overall while Rollins lost its fifth consecutive game and fell to 14-13.

After Joe Post hit a one-out double down the left field line, Andrew Brodbeck knocked him in with a single to the gap in right-center. Brett Moreland would reach on a fielding error and the Jay Laurienzo belted the first of his two three-run home runs to give Flagler a 5-3 lead. Jake Hanson followed Laurienzo with a solo home run to cap the scoring.

After Rollins got a run back in the top of the sixth, Moreland hit a two-out RBI-triple to the right-center gap that deflected off of Brandon Curson's glove. Moreland scored on a wild pitch and the Saints increased its lead to 8-4.

Laurienzo went opposite field (right field) for his second home run to give Flagler an 11-5 lead.

Drew Heifner (1-0) tossed two innings in relief to pick up the victory. He allowed three hits and one unearned run. Beau Beaudreau finished the game to earn his second save of the season. He hurled three innings, allowed two hits, one run and fanned four.

Laurienzo went 3-for-4 with a double, two home runs, three runs scored and six runs batted in. Hanson went 3-for-5 with a home run. Brodbeck singled, doubled, scored two runs and drove in another. Moreland singled, tripled, scored twice and knocked in a run.

Flagler's 1-5 hitters combined to go 11-for-21 with 11 runs scored and nine RBI.

Matt Hendricks (1-2) tossed five innings, surrendered nine hits, five earned runs and struck out five in picking up the loss for the Tars. He helped his own cause by leading off the second inning with a home run.

Brian Lattanzi collected three singles and drove in a run. Evan Rivera singled, doubled and scored two runs.

Flagler heads to Columbus State University this weekend for a three-game Peach Belt Conference series. The series opens on Friday at 6 p.m.
