Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE – No. 15 (Collegiate Baseball/ Division II) UNC Pembroke pounded out 16 hits and used a four-run third inning to roll to a 13-1 win over Flagler College in a Peach Belt Conference baseball game Sunday night at Drysdale Field.

UNCP improved to 21-7 overall and 10-6 in the Peach Belt. Flagler fell to 12-15 overall and 5-11 in conference play.

The Braves sent nine men to the plate in the third inning and scored four runs on four hits. Ben Schmucker hit a bases clearing triple to give UNCP a 4-0 lead. Zade Denton followed with a double to knock in Schmucker.

That would be all of the offense Ethan Carter (8-0) would need as he tossed seven innings, scattered five hits and allowed one run while striking out nine to earn the win.

Brett Huffman singled three times, scored a run and knocked in another for the Braves. Drew Cole collected two singles and a double. He also scored a run and drove in a run. Schmucker hit two triples and finished with four runs batted in. He scored three times. Denton hit two doubles and knocked in three runs while Drew Alford doubled, homered and drove in three runs.

Chris Patrick (2-3) tossed four innings for Flagler. He allowed nine hits and eight runs. He walked four and fanned four.

Chace Mitchell went 2-for3 with a double.

The same two teams meet tomorrow (Mar. 25) in a doubleheader starting at noon at Drysdale Field.
