PEMBROKE, N.C. – Emilee Taylor recorded her second consecutive double-double, and seventh of the season, with a match-high 12 kills and 12 digs to help lead Flagler College to a 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-22) win over UNC Pembroke in a Peach Belt Conference volleyball match Saturday afternoon at the Jones Center.

Flagler extends its winning streak to five consecutive matches and raised its overall record to 11-6 and moves to 4-0 in the Peach Belt. UNCP lost its ninth match in a row and fell to 5-13 overall and 0-5 in conference play.

Abby Meyers added nine kills and six total blocks for the Saints while Rachel Wilkes recorded a season-high nine kills and added five digs as well as two total blocks. Meyers hit .444 with only one error on 18 swings. Amelia Morgan tallied 34 assists and collected eight digs while Casey Gnann led the defense with a match-high 22 digs.

Marissa Baker led the Lady Braves with 10 kills and 12 digs. Shay Peterson added eight kills and three total blocks. Ashtin Truesdale tallied 24 assists while Leslie Millard collected 16 digs.

Despite the 25-14 score in the first set, there were eight ties and three lead changes. The Saints rallied of 10 consecutive points to break open a 14-13 lead. Wilkes put away set point with a kill. Flagler hit .406 in the set with 15 kills and two errors on 32 swings.

The Saints broke open a 5-all tie with five straight points, three of which came on UNCP errors. Flagler won the second set 25-18.

The third and final set saw eight ties and four lead changes. UNC Pembroke held a 19-16 lead after a Sawyer Gray kill which prompted a Flagler timeout. The Saints scored the next five points to take a 21-19 lead, but couldn't shake the Lady Braves. A double-block by Truesdale and Gray tied the set at 22-all, but a kill by Morgan and Taylor set up match point and Morgan served up an ace to win the match.

Flagler and Armstrong Atlantic State University will face one another on Wednesday (Oct. 10) at 7 p.m. at Flagler Gymnasium. Neither team has lost a conference match.
