KANSAS CITY, Kan. – The Flagler College women's soccer team was one of 43 teams, men or women, to earn the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America's (NSCAA) Silver Team Ethics Award which was released this afternoon.

The Team Ethics Award recognizes teams that exhibit fair play, sporting behavior and adherence to the Laws of the Game, as reflected by the number of yellow caution cards or red ejection cards they are shown by referees throughout the season. There were 13 teams who earned the Gold Award which means the team did not have any cards throughout the season. There were 43 receiving the Silver Award (no red cards and a maximum of five yellow cards) and another 16 teams who earned the Bronze Award (no red cards and a maximum of 10 yellow cards).

Flagler only tallied four yellow cards all season long. Georgia Southwestern State University tied Flagler with just four yellows and Georgia College had the fewest in the Peach Belt Conference with one yellow card, but had one red card. Flagler and Georgia Southwestern were the only members of the Peach Belt to earn an award.

Flagler finished the season with a 9-8-1overall record and a 5-4-1 mark in conference play last fall. The nine victories by the Saints were the most since the 2007 season when they won 10 matches. The five conference victories are the most in Flagler's brief three-year history in the Peach Belt Conference.
