POOLER, Ga. − The Flagler College women's golf team finished in second place at the nine-team AASU Lady Pirate Invitational which concluded Monday at the Savannah Quarters Country Club (par 72, 5844 yards). The Saints finished with a 646 for the tournament and shot a 325 this morning.

No. 15 (NGCA/Division II Top 25) UNC Pembroke won the tournament with a 631, besting Flagler by 15 strokes. Shauna Walor of UNCP took home medalist honors with an 11-over par 155. She held off Nikki Crowley of Columbus State University and teammate Dana Watkins of UNCP by one stroke.

Flagler's Maria Alstrom (Falsterbo, Sweden, Sundsgymnasiet), yesterday's leader, carded an 81 today and fell back to finish fifth with a 14-over 158. Alstrom, a freshman, posted her best score for a 36-hole tournament this season. She beat her previous low (172) by 14 strokes. Leslie Choucard (Chessy, France, Mercer University) finished in a tie for seventh place with a 16-over 160. Victoria Seenath tied for 12th place with a 19-over 163. Lauren Benetti (Celebration, Fla., Daytona State College) shot a 22-over 166 to tie for 17th place. Elin Karlsson (Vanersborg, Sweden, Vaxjo Fria Gymnasium) rounded out Flagler's scorers with a 23-over 167 and tied for 19th place. Marissa Marinan (Niceville, Fla, Niceville HS) shot a 25-over 169 as an individual and finished in a tied for 22nd place.
