MACON, Ga. − The Flagler College women's golf team finished in third place with a 626 at the Eat A Peach Collegiate which concluded Monday afternoon at the Oak View Golf Course and Country Club (5,930 yards; par 72). Flagler carded a 315 in today's final round.
Mercer University, the host school, took first place with a 594 and won by 24 strokes. Lacey Fears of Mercer and Greta Lange of Shorter College finished in a tie for first place, each with a 1-under par 143, but Fears won in a playoff to earn medalist honors.
Leslie Choucard (Chessy, France/Mercer University) shot an overall 5-over 149 to finish fourth. She shot an even par 72 in the first round, but carded a 77 in today's round.
Lauren Benetti (Celebration, Fla./Daytona State College) tied for the sixth place with a 9-over 153.
Elin Karlsson (Vanersborg, Sweden/Vaxjo Fria Gymnasium) finished in a tie for 21st place with a 16-over 160 while
Victoria Seenath shot a 20-over 164 to finish in a deadlock for 5th place.
Maria Alstrom (Falsterbo, Sweden/Sundsgymnasiet) finished in a tie for 39th place with a 29-over 173.
Kelsey Hughes (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Allen D. Nease HS) shot a 34-over 178, as an individual, to finish in 44th place.
Flagler's next tournament will be the Saint Leo Invitational Oct. 18-19 in Lakeland, Fla.
