DADE CITY, Fla. − The Flagler College women's golf team finished in fifth place with a two-day total of 655 at the Saint Leo Invitational Monday afternoon at the Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club (6,010 yards; par 72).
Florida Southern College topped the 10-team field with a 607 and won by 15 strokes. Faulkner University's Mandy Gregg took home medalist honors with a 5-over par 149. She won by five strokes.
Lauren Benetti (Celebration, Fla./Daytona State College) led the Flagler contingent with a 17-over 161 and she finished in 16th place. Benetti shaved seven shots of her opening round total (84).
Leslie Choucard (Chessy, France/Mercer University) finished in 18th place with a 20-over 164.
Elin Karlsson (Vanersborg, Sweden/Vaxjo Fria Gymnasium) and
Victoria Seenath tied for 20th place with a 21-over 165.
Marissa Marinan (Niceville, Fla./Niceville HS) shot a 177 to finish in 43rd place.
Kelsey Hughes (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla./Allen D. Nease HS) carded a 187, as an individual, to finish in 51st place.
Flagler will host the Flagler Fall Slam Oct. 25-26 at Marsh Creek Country Club.
