ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Shawn Williams tossed a six-hit complete game shutout in leading Embry-Riddle University (35-10, 8-5 Florida Sun) to a 4-0 win over Flagler College (27-17, 7-6) in a Florida Sun Conference game Thursday afternoon at Flagler Stadium. The Eagles extend their winning streak over the Saints to 14 games and also extend their season winning streak to 15 games.
Williams (3-2) fanned four on the day and only allowed three Saints' players to reach second base.
The Eagles scored an unearned run in the top of first on Williams' single to right field which plated Derrick Pyles.
Embry-Riddle scored three more runs in the sixth, two of which came on Josh Doane's (2-for-5, 2 RBI) triple to right field to put ERAU ahead 4-0.
Michael Brady went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and another driven in.
Chris Guerra (Fresmont, Calif./Mount Mercy College) and
Randy Miller (Jacksonville, Fla./Florida CC-Jacksonville) each went 2-for-4, both hits were singles.
Tim DeSutter (Loxahatchee, Fla./Brevard CC) (3-8) picked up the hard-luck loss for the Saints. He went six innings, scattered six hits and allowed three earned runs.
The same two teams meet at Flagler Stadium tomorrow (Apr. 7) in a doubleheader starting at 4 p.m.
