ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Flagler College's Glenn Kiture (Orlando, Fla./Edgewater HS) hit a bases loaded double in the second inning to cap off a four-run frame in leading the Saints to an 8-2 win over Grand View College of Des Moines, Iowa in a non-conference baseball game Sunday afternoon at Flagler Stadium. Kiture racked up eight doubles this week for Flagler including five in consecutive at bats earlier this week. He now has a total of 13 for the season and is in second place on the team in that category.

With one out in the second, Brad Jackson (Havana, Fla./North Florida CC) doubled over the center fielder's head to get the inning started. Ben Floyd (Port St. Lucie, Fla./Brevard CC) followed with a base hit to right, scoring Jackson and the Saints took an early 1-0 lead. Chris Guerra (Fremont, Calif./Mount Mercy College) and Preston Picard (Detroit, Mich./Madonna U.) each singled to load the bases. Kiture ripped a 2-2 pitch deep to left that plated everyone on base to give Flagler (25-14) a comfortable 4-0 advantage.

The Saints plated a run in the sixth and three more in the seventh while holding the Vikings to single runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

Picard went 4-for-5, including a double, with a pair of runs scored and two more driven in for the Saints. Kiture finished going 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Floyd also went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Austin Donmoyer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove Area HS) (4-2) tossed six complete innings, allowed two hits and no earned runs. Paul Mathews (Baton Rouge, La./Saint Louis CC-Meramec) came on in the seventh inning with the bases loaded and no one out and induced a fly out and a double play to get out of the frame unscathed. In three innings of work he only surrendered two hits.

Dan Miller led Grand View (11-8) with a 2-for-5 afternoon. All six hits by the Vikings were singles. Josh Potthoff (0-1) tossed five complete innings scattered nine hits and allowed four runs.

Flagler College will take on Florida Sun Conference rival Webber International University at Babson Park on Friday (Mar. 31) at 7 p.m. Grand View College heads back north to host Central College on Tuesday (Mar. 28) at 2 p.m.
