ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Flagler College swept a non-conference doubleheader from Palm Beach Atlantic University winning the opener 6-5 and then taking the nightcap 11-7 Tuesday night at Flagler Stadium. Flagler raises its record to 21-13 and Palm Beach Atlantic falls to 6-24.

In the opener, Randy Miller (Jacksonville, Fla./Florida CC-Jacksonville) hit an RBI single to center in the fourth inning scoring Chris Guerra (Fremont, Calif./Mount Mercy College) with the game winning run. Miller was thrown out trying to advance to second on the throw into the plate, which was cut off.

Bryan Crouch (Jacksonville, Fla./Arlington Country Day School) hit a two-run homer in the first inning and was followed two batters later when Kris King (Youngstown, Ohio/Santa Fe CC) hit a two-run shot to left as well.

The Sailfish plated three runs in the fifth on back-to-back RBI doubles by James Gladding and Scott Jarmakowicz. Shelton Stevens doubled in Jarmakowicz later in the inning.

Austin Donmoyer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove Area HS) (3-2) tossed four innings, scattered eight hits and allowed five runs in earning the victory. Clark Hish (Boca Raton, Fla./Boca Raton HS) tossed three innings in relief and allowed just two hits to earn his first collegiate save.

Coleman Farrell (1-1) took the loss on the mound for PBA. He tossed six innings, allowed seven hits and four earned runs.

In the nightcap, Flagler plated five runs in the third and held on to defeat PBA 11-7.

Guerra led off the inning with a solo blast to left, his first of the season, to tie the game at 2-2. Glenn Kiture (Orlando, Fla./Edgewater HS) (4-for-4 with four RBI and two runs scored) hit the first of his four doubles on the night to drive in Miller who had walked, stolen second base and sacrificed to third. King followed with a two-run triple to right-center, plating Crouch, who had walked after Miller, and Kiture giving the Saints a 4-2 lead. Mike Scott (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School) hit a tapper back to the mound and King broke for home. PBA starter Demetrius Callins tossed the ball home, but Gladding could not control to ball in his glove and King was called safe.

The Sailfish countered with three runs in the top of the fourth, two of which came on Chip Davis' double to right center to draw PBA within a run, 6-5.

The Saints plated three in the bottom of the fourth of reliever Tristan Miceli. Shane Darnofall (Corry, Pa./Hillsborough CC) singled home Miller and later, Kiture hit a two-run double to give Flagler a 9-5 lead.

The Sailfish plated two more runs in the top of the fifth but Flagler scored a pair of insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Barry Cressley (Meadville, Pa./Hillsborough CC) (1-1) went 4.1 innings, allowing nine hits and six earned runs to earn his first win of the season. King went 2-for-3 with a double, triple and three RBI.

Callins (0-2) took the loss going three innings, allowing five hits and five earned runs.

Flagler College hosts Mount Mercy College tomorrow (Mar. 22) at 7 p.m. at Flagler Stadium. Palm Beach Atlantic travels to Fort Lauderdale to take on Nova Southeastern University at 6 p.m. tomorrow evening.
