ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Flagler College Saints drew nine free passes, all from the same pitcher, and managed to pound out 11 hits en route to an 8-2 win over No. 15 (NAIA) Saint Xavier University of Chicago in a non-conference baseball game Tuesday night at Flagler Stadium.

Cougar starter Ryan Quigley (0-1) walked five of the first six Saint hitters, including walking Kenny Bargfeldt (Fishers, Ind./Ball State U.) with the bases loaded and he also threw a pair of wild pitches in the inning allowing the other run to score.

All in all, Quigley went four innings and allowed one hit, three earned runs, walked nine batters and struck out six. Quigley threw 104 pitches in those four innings of work.

Flagler (17-12) scored the eventual game winning run in the second after a one-out walk to Chris Guerra (Fremont, Calif./Mount Mercy College) was followed by an RBI-double by Randy Miller (Jacksonville, Fla./Florida CC-Jacksonville) put the Saints up 3-0.

Preston Picard (Detroit, Mich./Madonna U.) (2-0) tossed seven innings, scattered eight hits and allowed one run to earn the victory.

Miller went 3-for-5 with three doubles, two runs scored and two more driven in for the Saints who snap a three-game losing streak. Zach Rossetti (Tequesta, Fla./Jupiter HS) singled twice and drove in a run. Bargfeldt also singled twice and drove in a run.

Nick Tantillo went 3-for-4 with a double for Saint Xavier (4-3).

Flagler College hosts No. 7 (NAIA) Bellevue (Neb.) University Friday (Mar. 17) night at 7 p.m. at Flagler Stadium. Saint Xavier University continues its southern swing with a doubleheader tomorrow starting with No. 23 (NAIA) Ohio Dominican University at 10 a.m. followed by a game against Tiffin University at 2 p.m. Both games will be played at Ormond Beach.
