ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - No. 23 (NAIA) Ohio Dominican University pounded out 17 hits and used a four-run sixth inning to down Flagler College 9-3 in a non-conference baseball game Sunday night at Flagler Stadium.

Troy Reeder and St. Augustine-native BJ Packo led off the fourth with a pair of singles. Ryan Vaughn set down a sacrifice bunt that was fielded by the Flagler first baseman who threw wildly to third, allowing Reeder to score and Packo advance to third. Vaughn went to second on the play. Phil Franks flew out to right field which allowed Packo to score and Craig Becker, Vaughn's courtesy runner, to advance to third. Matt Maple singled through the hole on the left side, scoring Becker. Later, Nick Assman would drive home the fourth run of the inning with his single to right.

Ohio Dominican's first two batters combined to go 6-of-9 at the plate with four runs scored and four runs batted in. Tristan Ribar, the lead off hitter, went 3-for-5 with a double four runs scored and an RBI for the Panthers (3-4). Assman went 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI. Matt Maple went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and a run batted in. Three other Panthers had two hits apiece, including Packo who went 2-for-5 with a double in his homecoming.

Seth Craft (1-0) tossed eight complete innings and scattered six hits. He surrendered just one unearned run. Troy Reeder tossed the final frame and allowed one hits and two unearned runs.

Shane Darnofall (Corry, Pa./Hillsborough CC) collected a pair of hits for Flagler (16-12). Kenny Bargfeldt (Fishers, Ind./Ball State U.) also tallied a pair of singles. Tim DeSutter (Loxahatchee, Fla./Brevard CC) (2-5) took the loss on the hill after hurling six innings, allowing 10 hits and three earned runs.

Flagler College hosts No. 15 (NAIA) St. Xavier University of Chicago on Tuesday (Mar. 14) at 7 p.m. at Flagler Stadium. Ohio Dominican continues its spring trip in Florida with a 10 a.m. game tomorrow (Mar. 13) against the University of St. Francis (Ind.) at Ormond Beach.
