In the nightcap, a four-run second inning led Flagler (5-3) to the 8-5 win over Southeastern.
With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the second, trailing 3-1, Florida Sun Conference Player of the Week Chris Guerra (Fremont, Calif./Mount Mercy College) hit a grounder to the right of the Southeastern first baseman that glanced of his glove to the second baseman and everyone was safe. Picard came up with the bases loaded and the Saints down 3-2 and he pulled a ball down the right field line allowing two more runs to score to put Flagler up 4-3. Randy Miller (Jacksonville, Fla./Florida CC-Jacksonville) followed with another double down the right field line, this one a flare to right, allowing Guerra to score and Picard advanced to third.
That proved to be enough, but an insurance run came in on Shane Darnofall's (Corry, Pa./Hillsborough CC) sacrifice fly in the third to give Flagler a 6-3 advantage.
Picard went 3-for-4 with two doubles and three runs batted in. He also picked up the win on the mound in his first appearance of the young season. Picard scattered seven hits and five runs over 5.2 innings. He settled down after a three-run first inning. Ben Floyd (Port St. Lucie Fla./Brevard CC) tallied two singles and a double and scored a run for the Saints. Brad Jackson (Havana, Fla./North Florida CC) came on to earn the save, tossing 1.1 innings.
