Stella Jelinek of the women's golf team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week for the period ending March 17.
The Leimen, Germany native won her third tournament of the year with an 8-under par 205 (71-66-68) at the Emerald Coast Collegiate. Her second round 66 tied her own record for best round, which she has twice this season. Jelinek's 54-hole score, 205, bested the previous mark (by Sophie Wheeler in 2022) by seven strokes. Her score relative to par, -8, beat the previous mark by four (Wheeler in 2020). She was tied for second for the most birdies in the field with 11 and was tied for eighth with 37 pars. Jelinek was tied for first for the best scoring average on par-5 holes (4.58) and was second on the par-4s (3.93).  Â
Jelinek is ranked No. 2 nationally and her 71.4 strokes per rounds average leads the team.
