Luisa Hrda of the women's tennis team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Oct. 2.
Hrda won her second consecutive ITA Southeast Regional singles championship last Monday when bested her teammate, Nadja Meier in straight sets (6-2, 6-2). That wasn't it for Hrda. She teamed with Eryka Kruk to win the doubles tournament as they won by default over another Flagler tandem, Nadja Meier and Dana Heimen. It's the first time in the NCAA Division II era that Flagler has had players in the finals in singles and doubles.
Hrda won six singles matches to claim the title and then won four doubles matches, before the default in the final, to win that competition.
This fall, Hrda is 8-0 in singles and 6-0 in doubles. She advances to the ITA Cup, which will be played Oct. 13-16 at Rome, Georgia.   Â
