Josefine Nilsen of the women’s soccer team was named Athlete of the Month, sponsored by St. Augustine Inn, for the month of September.
Nilsen was named player of the week for the week of Sept. 13.
(from Sept. 13 release) The sophomore from Färjetaden, Sweden netted three goals, including a pair of golden goals, to lead the top-ranked women's soccer team to a 2-0 week and three victories in seven days. Her multi-goal game in a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Rollins College Sunday was her first of that kind since 2019 when she netted two goals versus Francis Marion University. She leads the Saints with seven points. Nilsen also earned herself Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week honors, as well as the first United Soccer Coaches Player of the Week honors in program history.
