Kyra Gipson of the softball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Feb. 7.

The senior pitcher posted a 2-0 record with one save and a 0.40 earned run average this past weekend. She made four appearances in the circle with two starts. The Sorrento, Florida native fanned 16 batters in 17.2 innings pitched. Gipson tossed a four-hit shutout against No. 12 Valdosta State University on Friday. She fanned seven in a relief appearance against the University of West Georgia.
