Gedi Juozapaitis of the men's basketball team was selected as the Academy Bus Athlete of the Week, for the period ending Jan. 26.
This is the third time he has been selected for this award.
The sophomore from London, England averaged 21.7 points per game, shot 57.9 percent from the field, and 59.3 percent from three-point range to help lead Flagler to a 2-1 week. Against Young Harris on Jan. 20, he tied his career-high with 35 points, 27 of which were scored in the second half. His three-pointer with 4.9 seconds left on the clock sealed the game for Flagler. Juozapaitis made nine treys in the game which tied a school single-game record. He added 14 and 16 points in the other two games last week.
For the season, Juozapaitis leads the team with a 19.3 points per game average and he also leads the club with 7.8 rebounds per game. His 85.7 percent mark from the free throw line and his 40.0 percent average from three-point range are tops amongst the team.
